Dunes Woman's Club

The Dunes Woman's Club is composed of women from the Beverly Shores community who like to gather, share good times and do good for the community.  The Dunes Woman's club is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs in the United States.  The  club's mission is: "Making for a better community and the people who live in it."  As part of that effort, for example, the club puts together and distributes a telephone book for Beverly Shores residents.

Historical records show that on June 28, 1934 the Chesterton Tribune reported "Mrs. Ruth Wollet entertained a group of Beverly Shores ladies last Friday afternoon and the organization of a woman's club was discussed.  Those present were enthusiastic and seemed to believe that a woman's club was necessary at the present stage of development of this  lake shore development.  The club was finally "officially organized" in 1939 and became part of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs in this country in 1941.  The club claims Blue and Sand as its colors.

Meetings are held at noon on the second Thursday of the month from September through June, with the exception of January.  Most meeting are held at "Our House" on Frontage Road behind the Beverly Shores Administration Building.  Membership dues are $20 for the year.  New members are always welcome, this is a great way to get to know the people in the Beverly Shores community.
