The Beverly Shores Depot Gallery opens its 2008 season on Sunday, April 20, with an unveiling of “S Mermaid” and “X Bear” by international sculptor Jozef Sumichrast and two additional sculptures by Wanatah, Indiana, self-taught artist Wayne Rice. On this day there will also be a reception for the first exhibit, previewing the season’s artists. Gallery hours throughout the season are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Admission is always free, but donations are sincerely appreciated.
The Beverly Shores Museum welcomes those who wish to view the history of Beverly Shores, including historic photographs and memorabilia of Frederick H. and Robert Bartlett’s community development plans (1927 – 1947), and the Town of Beverly Shores (1947 to present), including the Beverly Shores Architectural Historic District featuring several of the modern houses of the 1933 – 1934 Century of Progress Chicago’s World Fair. 2008 Artist Exhibit Schedule The Beverly Shores Depot Gallery enthusiastically announces a 2008 art season that expands our presentations from indoor gallery exhibitions to sculpture exhibits outdoors. Indoor exhibits rotate monthly and outdoor exhibits rotate every three months so please make your visits regularly so that you can appreciate the full range of our offerings. Opening receptions allow you to “meet the artist.” Gallery hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
